Winter Sports Update

Happy Monday Morning Everyone!  Our Winter Athletic teams have been crushing their competition this season!  Here is a look at how they did last week:

The Girls Basketball Team had a monster week, going 4-0.  The Lady Panthers thrashed Bordentown High School on Monday, 54-15.  Cadence Anderson led the scoring with 16 points.  Sophia Wilburn added 10 in the dominant win.  The Girls followed that win up with a 60-49 victory at Pemberton on Wednesday.  Cadence Anderson again led the way with 19 points, while Sophia Wilburn added 13 points and 13 rebounds and Angelina Sauls chipped in with 10 points.  The girls then hosted Burlington City on Friday winning 44-27.  Cadence Anderson continued her hot streak, scoring 21 points while Lauren Gilmore scored 11 to guide the Panthers to their 3rd win of the week.  The Girls finished off their perfect week with a 53-39 win over BCIT Medford.  Sophia Wilburn dropped 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to spark the ladies.  Cadence Anderson added 11 points in the victory.  The Lady Panthers were able to improve their record to 13-2 with the perfect week.  They will return to action this afternoon against Penns Grove High School at 415PM in the PHS Gym

The BCSL Independence Division Champion Wrestling Team had an impressive 3-1 week.  The boys opened the week with a 42-29 win over Pemberton High School.  Trevor Young, Elliot Jackson, Hugh Toner, Zach Warnock, Jesse Domask and Patrick Daly were all winners on the mat for the Panthers.  The Panthers traveled to Buena High School for a quad on Saturday.  The boys defeated Cedar Creek High School 54-24.  The Mat Cats got wins from Jesse Domask, Pat Daly, Xavier Mourey and John Dugan on the mat to lead them to the big win.  The boys lost a close one to Clayton High School, 41-36, before beating the hosts 40-36.  Ben Still, Elliot Jackson, Zach Warnock, Jesse Domask, Patrick Daly, Xavier Mourey, John Dugan and Trevor Young all won on the mat for the Panthers.  The Panthers are now 12-8 on the season and will travel to Paulsboro High School for a playoff match against Woodstown High School today at 5PM.

The Boys Basketball Team had a 2-1 week.  They opened the week with a 69-25 win over STEM Civics on Tuesday.  Kwinten Ives led the scoring with 23 points.  Anthony Sadler and Jase Jennings each scored 10 points while Reed Wells helped out with 14 points.  The Panthers lost a tough one to Pemberton High School on Thursday, 63-47, before finishing the week with a blowout win at Highland Regional High School on Saturday, 73-34.  Kwinten Ives had a monster game with 30 points while Chris McCarron netted 21 points.  The boys are currently 9-4 entering play this week.  They will travel to Florence High School for a big divisional game today.  Here is a nice article on the boys team as they enter play this week.NJ.com Tandem could make Palmyra a Dangerous Group1 Team when March Rolls around

The Winter Track and Field Teams had their meet postponed due to damage at their running site from the winter storm.  They hope to be "back up and running" this week!

Middle School Wrestling completed its successful season with its final 2 matches against Riverside and Pennsauken. 

Palmyra won 10 of the 17 matches against Riverside.  Match winners were Michael Monroe, Shane Mulherin, Rian Austin, Samantha Domask, Ian Smith, Levi Jander, Chase Moritz and Joe Augusta.

Palmyra won 7 of the 10 matches against Pennsauken. Match winners were Hailey Monroe, Chase Mulherin, Michael Monroe, Levi Jander, Patrick Broadbelt, Rian Austin and Ian Smith.

Boys and Girls Middle School Basketball Teams completed their fruitful winter seasons with competitive games against Burlington City on Monday.
