Panther Athletics Update

-and NOW from our SPORTS DESK - Athletic Director Mike Papenberg reports:      Good Day Everyone, We hope that you enjoyed your beautiful fall weekends!  We are starting to wrap up our fall seasons as we head into the playoff season.  Make sure to come cheer us on!

The high school Girls Soccer Team had a 2-0 week and captured a share of the BCSL Patriot Division Championship.  The girls beat Maple Shade 3-1 on Monday to earn the share of the division crown.  Mikayla Mangano, Jillian Hines and La’Nya Muldrew-Bracero scored the goals for the Lady Panthers.  La’Nya also had an assist, along with Ellie McCarron and Kyleigh Himmel.  Maeve O’Connell made 6 saves to earn the win in goal. 
The girls then destroyed Burlington City on Wednesday, 7-0.  Mikayla Mangano had a hat trick and Jillian Hines scored twice to lead the offense.  Ellie McCarron and Kyleigh Himmel also scored for the girls.  Maeve O’Connell and Elsie Kenson earned the shutout in goal.  The girls are now 12-4 on the season and will host Gloucester Catholic tomorrow in a playoff tune up.

On Wednesday the Boys & Girls Cross Country Teams competed in the Burlington County Freedom Division Championship. The Boys' team of Owen Jacobs, Aiden Hines, T.J. Peltz, Aiden Quesnel, Brock Weaver, Carter May and Jack Timlin placed 5th overall out of 10 teams. They also ran many personal bests and their fastest team time of the year.  Maya Richman-Dupont placed 9th overall and ran a personal best.  She was also the first freshman girl across the line in the race. Great job everyone!  The Cross Country team will run at Dream Park this Saturday in the NJSIAA Sectional Championships.

Yee-Haw!  Congratulations to the Palmyra Marching Band & Color Guard for their 2nd place finish at the Hatboro HS Band competition on Saturday.  They just missed out on first by less than .2 (2 one-hundredths) of a point.  They have now placed 1st or 2nd at every show they competed in this year.  As in the past weeks, they again won Best Music.  They are now ranked second for all the Independence A Bands in the Cavalcade of Bands Circuit.  They will challenge for the title this weekend at the All-States Championship on Saturday.  #PalmyraProud of yet another great performance!

The Boys Soccer Team lost its only game of the week 2-1 in overtime against Northern Burlington.  Cole McCamy scored the goal for the Panthers off an assist from Patrick Broadbelt to tie the score.  Deakon Haines made 8 saves in goal for the Panthers.  The boys are now 9-6 and will host Moorestown Friends at the stadium at 3:45 today for their next match.

The Football Team completed its season with a tough 50-11 loss to Burlington City.  Evan Montgomery was able to drill a beautiful field goal to put the Panthers on the scoreboard.  John and Jaleel Latimore were responsible for the Panther Touchdown and 2 Point Conversion.  The Gridiron Panthers finished their season with a 3-6 record.

The Field Hockey Team lost their one game to Maple Shade during the week.  Anna Paszkiewicz scored a goal for the girls.  The girls are now 6-9 and will return to action on Wednesday at Legion Field vs Gateway High School.

=====================MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS============================
The Middle School Boys Soccer Team beat Collingswood 8-1 on Thursday. Logan Collins, Jesus Analco-Martinez, and Jaxson Ridgway each with 2 goals on the day, Ridgway also added 5 assists. Gabe Moran added a goal and Karson Beachum scored his first goal of the season. Ethan Priest with the complete game win in net.
