Mindful Monday - In a Cup of Tea
Tea has a long history that starts in China nearly 5000 years ago. Tea has made fortunes for some and started revolutions for others, but it has also been at the heart of ritual and ceremony and it can provide a moment of mindfulness for you today.
The Japanese have made serving tea an art form but you can use tea to incorporate a simple mindful moment into your day. Be sure to use a beautiful or stylish cup or mug. You can choose a tea for its calming, stress relieving properties or pick one that can perk you up. And if you absolutely have to multitask while the water comes to boil and the tea is steeping, do so by mindfully reading a magazine, doing a crossword puzzle, or another simple, low-key activity. But once your tea is ready, sit down and truly enjoy its warmth, aroma and taste because you deserve this mindful moment.
